I really like the show New Adventures of Old Christine, and with my new exploration into my problems I've found a new relevance in the show. I am not sure which episode it was, but its been a very recent one, the brought up covert incest (not by name) in the main character and her brother. She was trying to break the cycle with her son, and her brother was trying to break his own cycle with his mother. It was enlightening, because this was before I really knew what it was called, and yet I identified with it way too much for comfort.

I love that show, but once I realized what I was dealing with was being shown as a comedy, it was sad to watch for me.

Yes. It is difficult to watch these shows that make light of such grave material. It is by no means comedic--not in any way. THese are horrid horrid acts.

Do you have a link to the episode? The jokes in that show are usually that Old Christine and her brother are not incestuous at all; if they were, it would NOT be funny. Also, between two adult siblings, there are no issues of boundary violations, the way there are with parent and child.
