For any partners out there, there is a website that may help ease some pain and frustration. There are a lot of covert incest survivors/victim's spouses on it. It is a good place to read stories and vent, as well. It deals with MILs, FILs, SILs, BILs, etc. There are daily stories and message boards. It has helped me not feel alone. I am sure some of you have read things here, and have never posted, but the other link has some very therapuetic qualities, as well. A lot of posters there do not know the name for what it is that affects their partner or spouse, but you will definitely recognize the covert incest in their stories.

Check it out! It helped me big time in my search to find that I am not alone. Plus, it helped me realize my MIL could be much worse, and she could have tortured my husband more than she did. There are lots of stories on how people have overcome their problems with their parents and in-laws, which gives us both hope for a healthy recovery. Sadly, it seems most of the covert survivors had to cut all ties to their parents or mother, but it is a reality sometimes for recovery. There are father/daughter stories, as well, but I have focused on mother/son, because of my own situation.
There are also forums for talking about your own parents and family members, and what they have done to you. So, it is called mother-in-laws, but it actually has forums for any family member, even spouses. It has letters people have written to people and never sent or they have sent, too.
Have a beautiful day, everyone!!!!
