Hi, I would like to tell everyone about a new book that just came out. The book title is Scars That Speak: One Woman's Battle With Self-Destruction by Rochelle Murray. The website is www.scarsthatspeak.com. On the website you will find excerpts from the book, information about the book and the author, copies of original artwork, music she has written, and her blog. She would love to get some blog followers. She is trying to write a blog article every day.

I just finished reading the book this weekend and I must say it contains an awful lot of information about covert incest. The climax of the book was when Rochelle, her husband, and her mother all joined together for several therapy sessions.
Just the fact that her mother would even agree to come to therapy and talk about herself is amazing. My mother would have started screaming and stormed out of the room once something was said that she didn't want to hear.
Which is why I guess Rochelle is able to have some kind of relationship with her mother and I don't.

No doubt, Moriji. My mother is unwilling to look at the trauma in her life (being molested by three or four close relatives). She holds fast to a rosy view of her childhood. I recently read that this sort of denial is a perfect formula for a parent's CI behavior. I don't have a relationship with mine either and I will not if she will not admit what she did. It is amazing that Rochelle's mother agreed to therapy and openness. I just don't see that happening with my mother, but of course, it remains to be seen. Best to you!
