Hello everyone!
I would like to take this opportunity to clarify the boundaries between moderators and members, in terms of what is expected of us. I think it is important to spell this out as clearly as possible so that no misunderstandings may inadvertently arise.
1. Please be patient with us during the vetting process. We need to be absolutely sure new members are survivors before we give them full access to the forums. Sometimes we may ask questions if we are not sure. To expedite this process, it would help for new members to provide the names of other sites where they participate. New members may send this information to us via email or private message if they prefer.
2. Although we try to participate in the forums as much as possible, we cannot possibly respond to every single post out there. As we all have lives outside of the Internet, we have to manage our time on the forums the best we can. If no one responds to your thread, please do not take this as a rejection. It simply means we didn't find the time to answer or did not have anything to add to it. Having said that, we do encourage everyone to support one another as much as they can.
3. This is a self-help support group, so please do not come here with the expectation of getting advice. We cannot possibly know what is the right choice for you to make. The best we can do is explore possible options with you and talk about our own experiences. If you are in dire need of help, please consider counseling or calling the National Sexual Assault Hotline listed below.
4. These forums are strictly for survivors. Partners of survivors who come here expecting to get answers will be banned. Absolutely no exceptions will be made. However, we do encourage partners to support each other in the partner forums (http://covertincest2.proboards29.com).
Let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
