I have a Bipolar diagnosis but I have more in common with BPD. Being the victim of emotional incest it was normal for me to feel privileged and victimized, talented and worthless, blessed and cursed. This dizzy swing of feelings from invincibility to inadequacy and the fluctuation of these feelings from highs to lows seem to be describing Bipolar disease. Are the mood swings of an emotional incest victim different than the mood swings of a true Bipolar? I think that mood swings caused by Bipolar disease is because of a chemical imbalance in the brain, whereas the mood swings caused by emotional incest are caused by a child victims security being unstable, one minute he can feel secure only to have that security ripped from him leaving him in an anxious state If the answer is yes then besides BPD we now have emotional incest that can be misdiagnosed as Bipolar. I hope I was able to convey my message so that it's understandable.
