Psychology Research in Mother & Son Relationships
« Thread Started on Oct 23, 2009, 9:01am »

Are you interested in taking part in some counselling psychology research looking into mother and son relationships? The research is part of a professional doctorate thesis on ‘Experiences And Understandings Of Exceptionally Close Sons & Mothers’ being conducted at Regent’s College, School Of Psychotherapy And Counselling.
The aim of the research is to further the understanding of close mother and son relationships, explore what it means to be in the relationship, find out how mothers and sons experience each other and learn more about how the relationship affects the people involved.
The research will involve both you and your mother taking part in separate recorded interviews lasting approximately 90 minutes.
At the end of the interview you will each be given a £15 M&S, HMV or WH Smith voucher to thank-you for your time and participation.

Inclusion Criteria.
*Both sons and their mothers must be willing to take part in the research.
*Sons & their mothers aged over 25
*You both live in the U.K.
* Your Father/Son’s Father is or has been largely distant, absent or unavailable.
* You interpret your relationship with your mother/son as being or having been
exceptionally close.
* The relationship does have or has had an exceptionally strong and frequent impact on your life.

If you fit this criteria and you would be interested in taking part in the research to talk about your experience with your son or mother please contact Kate Kenny (Research Student Professional Doctorate In Counselling Psychology) for further information about the study at katekenny28@hotmail.com.
